How to bake in color!

My name is Amira, and I run @the_sweetlife_of_amirarabah. I’m an explorer, photographer, and baker! Today I’m super excited to share how you can incorporate color into your baking at home! Now a common misconception with baking in color is that tons of food coloring has to be included, when in reality there are so many cool ways you can incorporate color without having that chemical taste in your baked goods!

1. The first way you can add color to your baking is sprinkles! I love adding colorful sprinkles on top to add some flair to my baked goods, and there are so many amazing options to choose from! You can also incorporate sprinkles into your batters, whether it be cupcakes, cakes, and even cookies! My favorite places online to get sprinkles are Fancy Sprinkles and Sweetapolita! They both have endless options of colors, and glitters!

2. The second way you can incorporate color into your baking is freeze dried fruits! You can get these at your supermarket and they create such a vibrant color that’s all natural. They also add such an amazing flavor! You can add them in your batters to create different colors or you can add them on top as decoration.

3. The third way you can incorporate color is with fruits! They are all natural, give great flavor, and they also add such a vibrant contrast. Just look at how they transformed this classic fruit tart! Plus there are so many great fruits to choose from.

4. If you're worried about adding too much food coloring but you want that vibrant color to your red velvet cupcakes you can use beet juice! Now I know that sounds a bit scary but once you add all your other ingredients you can’t even taste it! Plus it gives a gorgeous color without the chemical taste.

5. Last but not least you can still use food coloring it’s just all about what kind you use and how much. I highly recommend gel food coloring because it delivers a stronger color and you don’t need to use as much.  That way you can still have vibrant colored goods without worrying about it staining or giving you a bad taste!
